Gosh it’s been such a long time since I have had a chance to write on my blog… I’m embarrased.

But this is a topic I just had to write about because binaural beats are especially powerful in this area.

Relax With Binaural Beats…

Binaural beats are beats that are specifically designed to reach altered states of consciousness. They do so by forcing your brain into certain brain wave frequencies.

This process is called entrainment. Entrainment, also called brainwave synchronization, is the practice of altering one’s brainwaves frequency by means of a periodic stimulus with corresponding frequency.

The stimulation can be aural, as in the case of binaural beats, but the stimuli can be visual, like in the case of dream machines. It can also be both aural and visual, like with a mind machine. You can also entrain someone’s brain wave frequency through electromagnetic radiation.

Every brain wave frequency range will produce a state that will correspond to a certain mind state. For example, if you brain is operating in the beta brain wave frequency range, the area of external activity (physical, muscular, nervous, emotional and intellectual) will be dynamic in your personality. This is the range in which your brain waves are usually in when you are practicing activities that require your utmost attention.

If you brain is in a theta state, then you will feel a bit drowsy like in an early sleep state. This is the range where most of our daydreaming takes place. If you ever were once on the freeway and couldn’t remember what happened in the last 5 miles, chances are you were in a theta state.

If you’re brain is in the Delta state, then you are probably in deep sleep. The delta state can also be reached by skilled meditation practitioners. This is the lowest brain wave frequency range. If you go below the delta state, you will be in what is called a “brain dead” state.

But if you are in an alpha state, you will be in a state of relaxation but still be well awake. The alpha state is the state between the beta state and the theta state and this is the zone you want to be in when you are trying to achieve better relaxation.

So if you want to achieve that goal with binaural beats, you have to go with recordings that target that specific range. There are plenty of different binaural beat recordings out there specifically made for that purpose (check out my set of audios at http://www.MyMindShift.com.

These recordings are designed to bring your brain waves into the 8 Hz to 14 Hz frequency range. This is the range in which your brainwaves are when they are in the alpha state. You will then feel as relaxed when you listen properly to these recordings as you usually would if you were to reach the same state through some other method.

But you will need a very good set of head phones to take advantage of all the benefits of binaural beats. Since binaural beats will only work if each separate ear is stimulated with a clearly distinct frequency, you will not be able to get results if you use standard speakers.

Never before have we been given the opportunity to “tune” our mind up to specific mind states with external sources of stimuli. If used properly, binaural beats can be a very effective way to release stress and dramatically improve one’s life quality…

Less Stress – Easy Sleep – Deep Relaxation and Centered Meditation will all help you to relax and they are all available at http://www.MyMindShift.com for one low price. Check it out if you need some help in that area.

How Can Binaural Beats Help You?

The capabilities of binaural beats are truly amazing. Binaural beats work by “tricking” your mind into gearing itself to different brainwave frequencies.

This is truly where the power of binaural beats lie. Once you understand that your brainwaves are truly what dictates your behavior, you start to understand the amazing potential of binaural beats.

Binaural beats can truly be a gateway to different altered states of consciousness. Binaural beats work by sending two different sounds of different, but similar, wavelengths to each separate ear. Your left and right brains will then balance themselves out and through a process called entrainment set themselves to a specific wavelength, all depending on the frequencies that were originally emitted.

Your mind then enters the specific state that the brainwave frequencies will induce. Since different brain wavelengths can induce different moods and behaviors, binaural beats can be used to shape and mold one’s mind.

Different binaural recordings can be designed to set the brain to different wavelengths thus creating the state these specific wavelengths produce. There are 4 principal brainwave patterns: beta, alpha, theta and delta.

More Focused And Alert Binaural Beats
If your goal is to heighten your brain’s activity and to be more focused and alert, then you can use binaural audio recordings that target frequencies between 14 Hz and 40 Hz range. These frequencies will induce what is called a beta state. This is the highest of all 4 frequencies your brain can emit. A beta state is associated to an engaged and highly focused mind. This is the state most public speakers are in when they make speeches and comedians are in when they perform their act.

Better Sleep Binaural Beats
If you want to get better sleep, then you can go for a recording that would put you in a delta state. A delta state occurs when your brainwaves are in the 0.5 Hz to 4 Hz range. This is where your brain gets most of his rest. Here the brainwaves are at the greatest amplitude and slowest frequency. They typically center around a range of 1.5 to 4 cycles per second. So if you want to say goodbye to sleepless nights, binaural beats might be of real benefit to you.

Meditation Binaural Beats
Binaural beats can be used for a variety of other reasons. Some recordings can be used to enter a deep meditative state. People practice meditation for a variety of reasons. Some do it out of religious belief, while some others do it for stress management purposes. Whatever the reason might be, binaural beats can help beginners reach a higher meditative state that they normally could.

Cure Depression Binaural Beats
Binaural beats can also be used to cure depression. Since depressive people usually dwell in lower brain frequencies then happier people, binaural beats can be used to gear up the brainwaves to a higher frequency. Binaural beats have been shown to be even more effective then regular anti-depressants in curing depression cases. This is not good news for the pharmaceutical industry…

The possibilities of binaural beats are endless. They can be used to really improve your natural capabilities and your quality of life… So why don’t you give them a try and see what binaural beats can do for you?

Binaural beats were discovered in 1839 by a physicist by the name of Heinrich Wilhelm Dove.

Heinrich Wilhelm Dove was born on October 6 1803 in Liegnitz, Prussia. He attended the University of Breslau for 3 years where he studied history, philosophy and natural sciences.

He then pursued further education at the University of Berlin from 1824 to 1826, and in 1838, Dove became an associate professor at the University of Königsberg. One year later, he assumed an associate professor position at the world renowned University of Berlin.

Heinrich Wilhelm Dove’s influence on the scientific world was such that there is a crater on the moon, the Dove crater, named after him. He was also presented with the Copley Medal in 1853 because of his many achievements.

During his career, Heinrich Wilhelm Dove wrote over 300 different papers on various subjects ranging from meteorology to experimental physics.

In 1839, Heinrich Wilhelm Dove discovered that when two different sounds of two different, but very close, frequencies were sent to each of his subject’s ears, the two frequencies created interference in the subject’s brain and merged to produce a whole other frequency, or “beat”. And this is how binaural beats were born.

Dove discovered that when two sounds of similar frequencies to those of the brain waves were sent to each ear, the brain would automatically adjust its own brain waves to match those frequencies. This phenomenon is called entrainment and is the main working principle of binaural beats.

But, it wasn’t until an American biophysicist by the name of Gerald Oster published a paper on the subject of binaural beats in the 1973 edition of Scientific American magazine called “Auditory Beats in the Brain” that binaural beats were introduced to the mainstream.

Since then, thousands and thousands of different studies were conducted on the wondrous effects of binaural beats. Binaural beats were even referred to as the first “digital pills” because of their amazing therapeutic properties.

Binaural beats can be used to produce certain states of consciousness. Binaural beats can be used to stimulate creativity or to induce a deep state of meditation. You can modify the binaural beat’s frequency multiple times during a session to give the best experience possible to the listener. Binaural beats can also alter the mood of the subject, making binaural beats a potentially powerful cure against depression.

There are binaural beat recordings that are specifically designed to help you focus better. Some are made to induce a state of happiness and tranquility and some can even be used to cure headaches and high blood pressure. Binaural beats are truly revolutionary therapy tools and there is no telling how far this technology can go.

You can find a large variety of binaural beat CDs or even instant download mp3’s on the internet and you will absolutely need good headphones to make the best of them. Binaural beats are totally safe and you won’t get addicted to them; so you don’t need to worry about undesirable side effects.

All in all, binaural beats are truly an amazing discovery that will probably change the way we look at traditional therapy forever; and their therapeutic properties will probably never cease to amaze us.

Just over a month ago now if you were to ask me “Paul, what are binaural beats?” I wouldn’t have a clue, but for the last month I have been absolutely obsessed with these amazingly powerful audio’s.

Now you if you were to ask the scientists at http://www.web-us.com/thescience.htm you would get this exact answer.

“Binaural beats are auditory brainstem responses which originate in the superior olivary nucleus of each hemisphere. They result from the interaction of two different auditory impulses, originating in opposite ears, below 1000 Hz and which differ in frequency between one and 30 Hz (Oster, 1973).For example, if a pure tone of 400 Hz is presented to the right ear and a pure tone of 410 Hz is presented simultaneously to the left ear, an amplitude modulated standing wave of 10 Hz, the difference between the two tones, is experienced as the two wave forms mesh in and out of phase within the superior olivary nuclei. This binaural beat is not heard in the ordinary sense of the word (the human range of hearing is from 20-20,000 Hz). It is perceived as an auditory beat and theoretically can be used to entrain specific neural rhythms through the frequency-following response (FFR)–the tendency for cortical potentials to entrain to or resonate at the frequency of an external stimulus. Thus, it is theoretically possible to utilize a specific binaural-beat frequency as a consciousness management technique to entrain a specific cortical rhythm.”

Now I don’t know about you but that doesn’t make much sense to me, I can’t speak “scienese” so I especially asked my sound engineer what is happening when you listen to binaural beats mp3s.

Here is how he explained it.

Two tones at slightly different frequencies are presented separately, one to each of a subject’s ears, using stereo headphones. A beating tone will be perceived, as if the two tones mixed naturally, out of the brain.

These two frequencies when mixed together, results in a different frequency, which aligns your brain waves into a different way of thinking.

Here is a picture to explain a little better.

Now what does that mean for you?

Simply this… when you listen to specific binaural beats you can influence your brain waves to think or react in a specific way.

So… Instead of feeling tired all the time, you can change your brain waves so that you can immediately feel more alert. I’m talking about an espresso coffee jolt without the harmful side effects.

Or

If you want to spend a long time in concentrated effort, such as writing a book but your mind is constantly distracted, then you can instantly bring your brain waves to a different frequency, and you will think a lot clearer and more focused.

Or

If all you want to do is relax, but you can’t stop your brain from thinking. All you have to do is change the frequency of your brain waves from Beta to Alpha, or in other words slow them down.

If you want to experience the amazing power of binaural beats then I highly recommend that you check out http://www.MyMindShift.com for 12 binaural beat mp3’s for the price of one.

All the best for your success.

Sincerely,
